presented himself to police for arrest. Police have been raiding many places to look for him. Over a month,

police was unable to find him.

The anti terrorist court refused to buy the arguments of police for a physical remand and sent him on

judicial remand. He was taken away on 13th September From jail by intellegence agencies and we do not know

his where abouts.

Yesterday activists demonstrated in Islamabad and on Friday, there will demonstrations by LPP in Lahore and

Karachi at 3pm in front of Press Club buildings.

Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf and several other parties have demanded the release of Baba Jan and his 6 other

comrades immediately.

Raise your voices for the release of Baba Jan, a great revolutionary Socialist leader of Gilgit Beltestan.

We have received the news from Gilgit that Baba Jan was tortured by ISI while he was whisked away from jail

for two days on Wednesday last. Baba Jan is a climate change prisoners who raised his voice for the

compensation of Atta Abad lake effectees. He is now facing over a dozen police cases. Baba Jan, a member of

Labour Party Pakistan federal Committee surrendered to an anti terrorist court 10 days earlier to face the

charges. Police was unable to arrest him earlier despite many police raids on different places in Gilgit.

The Labour Party Pakistan Federal Committee two days meeting started yesterday in Lahore. Members from

Baluchistan, Khaiber Pukhtoon Khawa, Sindh, Saraiki Waseeb and Punjab are attending this meeting.

The Federal Committee discussed the issue of Baba Jan yesterday and decided to launch a campaign to safe his

and other six arrested along with him. LPP Federal Committee, the main decision making body of LPP decided

to print a poster, a day of action, a national and international appeal and other measures to raise the

issue of arrests, compensations and the arrest of those police officers involved in killing of son and

father during a demonstration.

Nisar Shah, general secretary Labour Party Pakistan and Farooq Ahmad member federal committee LPP will visit

Gilgit to raise the issue and show solidarity with those arrested and with the families of those who lost

their lives demanding compensation for Atta Abad Lake effectees.

The PPP government in Gilgit Beltestan is all out to crush the growing resistance by the locals to raise

their voices against injustice and its inability to solve any of the basic problems facing the area. LPP

appeal to all to raise the issue and emand the immediate release of Baba Jan and his six comrades, arrest

the police officers and pay the compensation to all Ata Abbad lake victims.
