Mumtaz Khan executive Director of ICFPD has protested over the remarks made by JKLF Chairman Mr.Yasin Malik about Pakistan administered Kashmir,
with Pakistan Danya TV in a panel discussion on July 16,2011. Mr. Malik was not critical to Pakistani people because they were surrounded by their own issues according to him; However, he was criticizing people and leaders of Azad Kashmir for unnecessarily involved in elections’ rigging controversies and process and not supporting Kashmiris struggle in Srinagar. As his remarks suggest that Pakistan controlled part is free. He was further critical to British Kashmiris, again was referring (from Pakistan controlled Kashmiri), for not coming out to protest against Indian occupation in thousands like they used to do before since got polarized in their own Azad Kashmir issues.
Mumutaz Khan said that he was shocked to hear such remarks about the
elections rigging in Pakistan administered Kashmir from a person who
(Malik) didn’t hesitate to declare war against India over the issue of
alleged elections rigging in Indian administered Kashmir of 1987. He
questioned him, if elections were meaningless why Mr.Yasin took part in it
and then pushed entire people of valley into a violent politics. His
remarks are not irresponsible but unacceptable to people of Pakistan
administered Kashmir; who has been subject of serious discriminatory laws
and policies of successive Islamabad’s rulers. As Pakistani rulers are
indulged openly in denying, violating, suppressing and manipulating the
democratic rights and choices of people of Pakistan administered Kashmir
since its control. The direct and open intervention of Islamabad rulers
and their functionaries including occupying top key posts by their lent
officers at Muzaffarbad, intelligence agencies role, and control of
minister for Kashmir affairs have seriously marginalized the local
governance and so-called AJK assembly that has been rendered non-entity in
internal affairs. How Pakistan’s control and precondition to declare
allegiance with “State’s Accession with Pakistan” under 1974 Act
corroborate with right to self-determination? How Kashmir Council
dominance and hegemonic control of every aspect of life in its controlled
Kashmir coincides with Kashmiri aspirations? How outfits of Pakistan’s
political parties legitimate in a territory since Pakistan’s own
Constitution and political stance calls it disputed? Why Nationalists are
forced to sign declaration of allegiance to be eligible to participate in
elections? Can Mr. Malik answer these questions to people of Pakistan
administered Kashmir before seeking their compliance with Islamabad’s
control? Is Mr. Malik visit has been planned to divert the attention from
elections rigging Pakistani rulers once again have committed? The views of
Yasin Malik appears to be representative of Pakistan than Kashmiris when
Pakistan’s issues concern him but its controlled part he deemed free and
calls it free.
Mr. Khan said that it is unfortunate that Srinagar pro-Pakistan leadership
is unable to see beyond their nose.
