Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir, September 13, 2011 Hundreds of citizens in Pakistan controlled Kashmir  warned  on Tuesday  to march towards Pakistani Capital city Islamabad, if authorities fail to  evacuate  militants from the areas at Indo-Pak defect border of Kashmir, reports Press For Peace(PFP) , a civil society organization working for peace in the region.

“Pakistan cannot stop us to march to Islamabad if Jihadi trouble makers are not pushed away from our homeland,”

A large number of protestors, majority of them school and college goers, marched in Athmuqam town against  alleged  presence of militants, who, according to  organizers of march, ‘are great threat for peace in their areas and they  want to destabilize the prevailing ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan at line of Control(LoC).”

Students chanted slogans in favor of peace and carried play cards inscribed slogans as: ‘We want books and pens, not guns’, and ‘we want peace’.

Addressing the protestors different civil society activists alleged that officials were intimidating locals after recent anti- radical’s protests organized by local women.

“Rather taking actions against militants, officials and authorities are harassing civilian population for voicing against the radicals”.

Protestors called upon India and Pakistan to continue ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control.

“Some people are engage in business in the name of Jihad, but we would not allow them to use our land for their businesses,” they added.

The protestors said that Pakistani authorities must take action against the banned Jihad organizations which ‘are freely operational in border areas of Kashmir.’
