Brussels: The statement of a member of Pakistani Senate warning to resort to target killings in Gilgit Baltistan is clearly a serious threat to this new colony of Pakistan. This is a plot by Pakistani occupying regime to massacre the indigenous people of Gilgit Baltistan on sectarian lines. The Pakistani sponsored killers have never been punished or detained even for a single day. This statement of Mr. Saifullah, calling himself as the head of standing committee of Senate, is an advance warning that government of Pakistan wants to start a mass murder campaign against the people of this disputed region once again, repeating what it has been doing in the past. It still remains the same that Gilgit Baltistan even after the fraudulent package and elections continues to stay disputed, as a foreign territory even according to the constitution of Pakistan. How a person can be a representative of a region which has no representation in his institution(Senate)? This Pathan does not represent Gilgit Baltistan in the senate and thus he cannot be selected or elected by Senate of Pakistan for this area. The Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan do not represent Gilgit Baltistan, therefore these institutions have no legal right to talk about the matter of our people.
To establish a standing committee for Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistani Senate is a yet another case of flagrant violation of UN resolutions and even the constitution of Pakistan itself. We consider the interference of Pakistan in affairs of Gilgit Baltistan as illegitimate and unconstitutional. BNF will hold government of Pakistan responsible, should any human loss occur through killings in Gilgit Baltistan following the statement of Pakistani Senator Saifullah.
Target killings spreading to other provinces: Saifullah - Daily Mail 27th July 2010 By Shakeel Ahmed ISLAMABAD—President Pakistan Muslim League (Likeminded) and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Senator Salim Saifullah Khan has warned that target killings are spreading fast to other provinces due to the negligence and lack of strategy by federal and provincial governments. Talking to a party delegation lead by deputy Secretary Information Ajab Gul Surani, Salim Saifullah said both federal and provincial governments are responsible for target killings and deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi, said a press release here Monday. He expressed disappointment that not a single perpetrator involved in Karachi target killings in which at least 800 innocent people killed since January this year, was brought before the nation and media. He said that law and order situation is deteriorating and target killings are increasing in Sindh and Balochistan with each passing day, while the government has become a silent spectator over the said issues and the rulers and leaders of political parties are involved in blame game. He strongly criticised the rulers that the rhetoric statements by them are not enough, the people want solution for their problems which needs practical measures. He has said that Karachi is the hub of economic activities of the country and the present deteriorating law and order situation has seriously affected economic activities of the country.
