Government of Pakistan, SECRET Ministry of states And Frontier Regions. S.No.8 EXPRESS LETTER. From : Safron, Karachi To : Norwef, Peshawar. No.D.3739-B/50 Dated, the 23 june, 1950. Subject:- Administration of the Gilgit Agency. In supersession of the orders conveyed in this ministry's Memorondum No. D. 3033-B/49, dated the 29th November 1949,the Government of Pakistan are pleased to decide that the control of the Gilgit Agency and of the Northern Areas of Kashmir under the administrative charge of the political Agent, Gilgit, shall be transferred from His Excellency the Governor, North West Frontier Province to Hon'ble Minister Kashmir Affairs from a date to be mutually agreed upon between His Excellency the Governor, North West Frontier Province and the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs. No decision has yet been reached regarding the crestion of the post of Chief Administrative Adviser to the Azad Kashmir Government and Political Resident for Gilgit and the Northern Areas. The consideration of this question will be taken up at a later date. 2. It may kindly be intimented when the records relevent to the Gilgit Agency and the Northern Areas will be taken over from this Ministry.
