GIGLIT: To serve humanity and those in need has always been a motto of rights activists and kind-hearted people all over the world and we can see this in times of tragedies and trial and tribulations when people
come forward, give a helping hand to the distressed and then go away without seeking anything in return after winning nothing else but hearts of millions.
In our Gilgit-Baltistan we have seen in the recent past some of nature's worst calamities when people were wiped out of their hearths and homes and left shivering under the open sky. However, those who
were expected to come to their rescue in these times of tragedies were nowhere to be seen. However, humanity never remains short of kind and God fearing people whenever there is a tragedy in any part of the world. During the crises that we saw in Giglit-Baltistan, we saw even poor people coming to the help of those in need and sharing whatever they had in their possession.

LAHORE: While Pakistan wants China to build a naval base at its south-western seaport of Gwadar in Balochistan, Beijing is more interested in setting up military bases either in Fata or
Gilgit-Baltistan, which is closer to the troubled Chinese province of Xinjiang. According to well-informed diplomatic circles in Islamabad, the Chinese desire is meant to contain the growing terrorist activities of
the Chinese rebels belonging to the al-Qaeda-linked East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM). The Chinese Muslim rebels want the creation of an independent Islamic state and are allegedly being trained in the
tribal areas of Pakistan.

Dear Halepoto,
After writing good paras then at the end you appealed to the chief justice for taking Sou Motto, this appeal would be no different if you ask the perpetrators that please do not do next time again. Every person knows the mindsets of our so called "independent judges" which are no different from the Taliban. In the case of Mukhtaran Mai chief justice kept her appeal for six years and then decided in favour of the rapists. Not a single case of violence against women or forced conversion of Islam after the abduction and rape of the minority girls ever have been taken by the judges. We send every case of violence against women and religious minority to the supreme court and high courts but they just throw them. They have read the stories from Nasim Hijazi's novels and they want to become the hereos of Nasim Hijazi's novels. These judges want to become the Hazrat Umer and others looking for if any dog is lying hungry or listening to the voices from the houses during the night patrolling--Nasim Hijazi says they were not listening the voices for any other reasons but to know what the people are having thinking about the rulers.
Rather than taking the path of right wing politics we should organise the civil society (not meaning the NGOs but lawyers, Hari committees, students, trade union, teachers, doctors, journalists, political workers and different associations) at least on this issue and agitate. Otherwise a nexus between judges, Taliban, ISI, military and religious political parties will turn the country in a violent, communal and sectarian society.

Forced Convergence and Killing of Hindus in Sindh
We strongly condemn the brutal murder of 4 Hindu doctors in their clinic in Chak town close to district Shikarpur, Sindh, Pakistan.Shikarpur by armed men of Bhayo tribe, a baradari. The head of Bhayo baradari is district president of PPP. First they tried to kidnap Hindu girls and tried to forcibly convert them into Islam and when the Hindu community took strong notice then the Bhayo tribe people did an ambush at the clinic and Dr Ashok, Dr Naresh, Dr Ajeet and Dr Satia Paul were killed by armed assailants while working in their clinic even on Eid day.
This is an inhuman, immoral and illegal brutality against those who serve the people as doctors and savors. This act is a black dot on the face of secular, progressive and tolerant identity of Sindhi society.
This is not the first time such an incident has taken place where members of Hindu community have been targeted. What is of concern is that the law enforcement agencies tend to support the criminals involved in such acts.
Religious minorities, vulnerable groups and women are the victim of an ANTI-HUMAN mindset comprised of local feudals, tribal chief, religious extremists and local agencies. They collaborate with each other to weaken the state writ and to develop their own hegemony.
Their being in power have collapsed the entire law and order and justice systems and paralyzed the administrative institutions to demonstrate their duties. And subsequently there is no state writ in these areas. We appeal to the government, political parties and civil society to take notice of this brutality and religious fascism and specially government to make arrangements to protect the citizens.
First we appeal to Asif Ali Zardari to immediately suspend PPP district Shikarpur president so-called sardar Bhayo, orders must immediately be issued to arrest him and all other culprits, who is exploiting local administration. We appeal Chief Justice of Pakistan to take Suo Motto of the targeting of Hindus in parts of Sindh.

Today, A protest demonstration and rally was taken out in Lahore by Labour Party Pakistan to denounce the 490 years of total jail sentences to the 6 labour leaders of Faisalabad. On average, every six of one will be spending 81 years in jail. An anti terrorist court judge announced last evening this long term sentences top the six powers looms workers leaders who led a strike in July 2010 in Faisalabad to demand better wages. The judge has announced the jail sentences in each of seven charges. The maximum sentence in one case is ten years. All the jail sentences will begin at the same time, so each one of the labour leader will spend at least 10 years in jail. Anti-Terrorist Court’s judge Mian Muhammad Anwar Nazir sentenced six Labour Qaumi Movement’s leaders and they are Akbar Ali Kamboh, Babar Shafiq Randhawa, Fazal Elahi, Rana Riaz Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam Malik and Asghar Ali. Four of them were arrested on 22nd July 2010 by Faisalabad police after a strike call by power loom workers for 17% increase in wages as per announcement of the government. Two other leaders Ansari were also arrested under same charges four months back. They have been accused of burning a factory during the strike. This is a fabricated charge. The fact are that on the day of strike on 20th July 2010, the factory owner in Thekri Wala started firing on the workers who were leaving the factory to demand for better wages. After hearing the firing by the gangsters of the factory owner, some workers dared to go inside the factory and forced the gangsters to stop firing. After workers went to the city with the main rally, the owner conspired to burn some old cloths and fire in one room, posing that workers have burnt the factory. During the trail, workers advocate raised the point the if the why factory was burnt then how it was able to function in two days time?

Sectarian Violence: Upgrade security forces, says Senator |
|

Latest news

Abdul Hamid Khan Chairman Balawaristan national Front (BNF) Condemns the statement of a Pakistani senator in Gilgit, who has issued threat notes to the people of Gilgit Baltistan, if and when they dared to demand any political remedy or help even in case of clamity, Pakistani occupation regime will not hesitate to use its brutal force against the unarmed public. Balawaristan ( Pakistan Occupied Gilgit Baltistan) is a disputed territory just like Jammu & Kashmir according UNCIP resolutions of 13th Aug 1948 and 5th Jan1949.
Pakistan had to withdraw all its troops and civilians from this occupied territory as per UN Truce Terms of 28th April; 1949 within a period of 3 months. Instead of withdrawal its forces and civilians, Pakistan has multiplied its forces by 1000 times and settled its nationals by violating UNCIP resolutions. It’s a challenge for UN and UNSC and specially the USA that one of its member country which also claims a COALITION PARTNER against Terrorism has re-defined the meaning of TERRORISM by imposing Terrorist Act against its political opponents and innocent victims who deserve help in real sense. Political opponents are framed as Terrorists and brought to the Terrorist Court in Gilgit, this is the fact that even a single UN or USA wanted or banned group member has not been found in Gilgit Baltistan so far. There were no such courts established in Abbottabad, Waziristan and other Tribal Agencies and Swat of Pakistan, where Talibaan are in control with the full support of Pakistaniu forces and its ISI.
In spite of the fact that almost 90% Al-Qaida members, including Osama Bin Ladan, have been found in Pakistan. The killers of these innocent protestors are left scot-free, because they wear Pakistani uniform and have Pakistani licence to kill any one, whereas more than 120 people were booked under terrorist charges, for simply protesting against the killing of innocent people. But on the other side terrorists are free to act who have links with Talibaan and Al-Qaida and those Talibaan or ex terrorists are kidnapped, arrested and killed who do not co-operate with ISI against US interest.
It is legal obligation of UN and UNSC to protect the life of people at least, if torture, freedom of expression and freedom of Assembly is beyond the practical scope of this world body. Pakistani government and its Missions in the UN and UNHRC which are being used by ISI to protect its terror act with the help of non-democratic UN members must be directed to bring the killers of the innocent people of Hunza, Chilas and Gilgit to justice and stop the TERRORISING the pro-democratic people. The terrorist charges against the peaceful protestors and political activists should be immediately withdrawn. The non-required and unjust Administrative Terrorist Court in Gilgit (disputed part of J&K),where even a single person of any banned group or UN banned group has not been found so far, should be closed (Note).
There is a strong need to upgrade and equip our security forces to effectively deal with disturbances in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).
This was stated by Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Talha Mahmood during a press conference at Gilgit Press Club on Monday.
